SKS GERMANY achieves record sales in its anniversary year

Beitrag vom:17. January 2022

2021 was a special year for SKS GERMANY in two respects: On the one hand, the bicycle accessories manufacturer from Sundern was able to look back on its 100-year history, and on the other hand, the company achieved record sales. Last year, 1.2 million air pumps, 4.5 million fixed mudguards and 2 million clip-on mudguards rolled off the production line and were exported to more than 60 countries. Despite Brexit, remarkable sales were also achieved in England.

“The bicycle boom, triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic, has filled our order books, but has also posed new challenges,” confirms Sales Manager Marcel Spork. Due to the high demand, we had to implement multi-shift work in many areas. Up to 50 new employees have been recruited and we are still looking for more people to strengthen our team. “We owe this strong year to the entire SKS workforce,” stresses Marcel Spork. “We would like to thank all our colleagues for their great commitment.”

Made in Germany strategy pays off

Managing Director Michael Best is also very satisfied with the record year: “Our Made in Germany strategy has paid off. Many competitors produce in the Far East so we had clear competitive advantages in this respect. Short supply chains and transport routes have allowed us to continue to deliver our products.“

In the future, SKS GERMANY will continue at its production site in Sundern – with clever investments in the technical infrastructure, innovative products and personnel development. A new logistics centre with about 5,000 additional bay locations is currently under construction. “We are optimistic that bikes will continue to grow in importance and are ready for another strong growth year”, states Michael Beste.
