Information on the Battery Act (BattG)

Here you will find important information on the return and environmentally sound disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries.

Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
As an end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries.

You can return used batteries and rechargeable batteries free of charge:

  • at public municipal collection points

  • at local retail outlets

  • at the point of sale where you purchased the batteries or the battery-operated product

  • or by returning them to us

The return of batteries at retail outlets is limited to quantities customary for end users and to such used batteries that the distributor offers or has offered as new batteries in its product range.

The symbol of the crossed-out wheeled bin indicates that batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.

Batteries and rechargeable batteries may contain hazardous substances which can harm the environment and human health if disposed of improperly.
The chemical symbols shown under the crossed-out wheeled bin have the following meanings:

  • Pb = battery contains lead

  • Cd = battery contains cadmium

  • Hg = battery contains mercury

This information applies to all products offered on sks-germany.com that contain or are supplied with batteries or rechargeable batteries.
